DomestiCity 013

Here's Cristy, Nemo and I in full Halloween spirit. Hope all you gouls and ghosts have a good time!

**EDIT**
So I forgot to add my scruffy facial hair and Cristy's elegant glasses in the drawing...... Let's just agree that I shaved and Cristy is wearing contacts this week. Yeah thats what we'll go with.

Domesticity 012

Here's this week's comic post. Cristy says that she's getting kicked harder and harder every week by the baby. So far I haven't felt a thing. How hard will she have to get kicked for me to feel it? I fear for her.

22 weeks

Jay has been really busy this week, so I had him take a picture of my “ever expanding” belly to replace the comic strip. There should be a new strip up next Wednesday.

The baby has been kicking for the past few weeks. I’ve made Jay put his hand on my belly to feel it, but so far he can’t. I did a little research and he should be able to feel the kicks in about 2 weeks. I’m excited about getting to share that with him.

I have not been sleeping well recently. Either the baby gives me a hard kick and wakes me or I need to use the bathroom. Between those two things I’m up every few hours. I guess that’s to ease me into the sleepless nights to come but I don’t think it’s the same. I can easily fall back asleep when there is no screaming baby.

Jay is unaware, but I have plans for him this weekend. We are going to finish organizing his studio, and then we will tackle the nursery!

DomestiCity 011

It's been a busy week, so the strip is posting a bit later in the day.

We had the 20 week checkup yesterday, and Cristy is healthy and doing great. The Doctor was real positive but said that Cristy needed to eat more protein during the course of her days. So digging back to my college years, I recalled that peanut butter was a great protein delivering snack but there is one problem. Cristy has a mild peanut allergy, so she's avoiding all peanut products in the hopes that the baby won't have it too. OK, what's the alternative? You guessed right, Soy-nut butter!

It has the same protein count as peanut-butter so I talked Cristy into buying a jar. And of course it tastes just plain awful. The flavor begins bitter with the aftertaste of roasted pinto beans. If this is the alternative, I sure hope our kid doesn't have a peanut allergy. Maybe Nemo will like it. We'll see tomorrow.
